Redlands Senior Photographer

Seniors: Nadine

Im so happy to say this girl kicked off 2012 the right way as far as senior shoots!

Senior sessions should really show your personality and your passions. Wether its sports, books, or photography. What ever it is, I want to show case that in my photos. But more important than your hobbies, is you.

Not only is Nadine is absolutely gorgeous. She was also a dream to work. We trucked from 3 different locations and she laughed all the way through. She is beyond easy going and posed so naturally.

I cant wait to work more with the class of 2012 and future classes!

Personal: A Look Back

This blog is to all the people who 'liked' my photography page last year. I don't know if I could of made it this far without the continued support of those around me. I wish I can say I started out amazing, but seriously, who ever starts something new without a few mistakes? Although, its my fans and my few photographer friends that were there when my images got a little bit cray! Or more specifically, when they got a little.... orange..
**hangs head**

Unfortunately.... or maybe fortunately, all my early photo shoots are somewhere in Afghanistan on my husbands laptop.  When I started out, I did all my editing there and never really looked at the long haul. But what Im about to show is one of the images I was able to dig up. I remember the exact day of this shoot, and when I blogged them. When I found a few of these photos my instincts were to bury it! Bury them deeeeep deep inside of my blog so no one ever sees them again!  But another part is pretty dang proud. I see how far I've come and it amazes me. Im not saying Im perfect. I will make mistakes, but I will learn something new on every single photo shoot. And I can promise you that. Little things like this reassure me Im going somewhere with my photography.

No matter where you're going, or how far you come, its so incredibly humbling to look back.

On a side note: it is NEVER okay to make someone look THAT orange

Redlands Family Photographer

Family: Herbst

Since I've known this little girl I've been dying to get my camera on her! Her curls are probably the cutest thing I've ever seen! She was born just weeks apart from my own little girl and watching the similarities and differences between them are amazing.

But as sweet as this little one is, she has SASS! The faces she makes are unbelievable, and her covering her mouth when she laughs, seriously? I love this family and was so glad I was able to catch them before they're on their was back to Tennessee!

PS: I think every shoot should start out with someone picking their nose, am I right?

too stinkin' cute!

Personal: Untraditional

Growing up we had set traditions for the holidays. Christmas eve at my Dad's parents, Christmas Day with my Mom's parents. Every year. Though for the last 4 years or so, they keep getting more and more different. And then this was totally jumbled. Lets just say I have Christmas photos from four, yes FOUR, christmases.

I was looking through my photos and realized I loved the detail shots,  not posed, or planned, just one snap and moved on. These were the ones I wanted to share, because really who wants to see my whole family lined up wearing christmas sweaters in front of the fire place? Okay we didnt have Christmas sweaters... we aren't that cool.

So when you're taking photos next time of your family, no matter where you are, remember the details. And the moments in between moments.

Couples: Daniel + Liz

A few days after Christmas my family had a get together at my grandparents cabin. We used to do this every year, but since everyone is grown and now has their own families, the meetings there are far and few between. Its absolutely gorgeous up there, summer or winter. While we were there I pulled my brother outside with his wife to have fun/freeze our little booties off in the snow! But you cant blame us, were from the desert part of California, WE DONT DO COLD!

I love my brother and sister in law, and they are always fun to shoot. But its sad to think we wont be able to do impromptu little shoots like this anymore. He left today for his basic training for the Army. And being an Army wife myself, I knooooow what this means! It means family stationed on other sides of the country and only seeing each other for Christmas... if you're lucky.

Although, I couldn't be more proud of my big brother, he is growing into the man I pictured him to be. Awe, okay no getting sappy on you! Here are just a few shots we got before we running inside to defrost!

SWOON!

Good luck in basic training, big brother!
